Ancient Chinese historical sources describe Jia Xia “as
thrice a queen and seven times a wife. Probably a native of the state of Zheng,
she was the wife of Xia of Chen.” The account by the early author Shuji, “Xia
Ji killed three husbands, one ruler, and one son, and ruined one state and two
ministers.”
