Mary Coates: The Badger Game in 1934, Chicago


FULL TEXT: Mrs. Mary Coats, top above, was freed on a charge of extortion in the attempt of her husband, Lloyd Coates, and Edward Gladstone to obtain $100,000 from Harold P. Morton, 65-year old millionaire Cincinnati manufacturer, when Coates found the pair together in a room in a Chicago hotel. Coates and Gladstone were declared guilty and held for sentence,
