“Chiapas Black Widow” - Mexico, circa 1930s

The following is taken from an interview with a woman from Chiapas State, Mexico, named Micaela Díaz Díaz. The dating in the document is vague, so a conjecture of “circa 1930s” has been offered based on inference.

EXCERPT: My husband did find another wife and went to live with her. but he didn’t have any children with her either. She already had a son with another husband. But not long after they were married, her first husband became skinny and died. My husband came to see me and I told him, “You see, that woman is a man killer!” But he went back to her anyway.

He lived with that woman six years, and each year he got thinner and thinner – skinny as a bone. And then he died in that woman’s house. He deserved to die like that for going off with that evil woman!

She killed three husbands like that. She was one of those women who looks for a man, then kills him. Then looks for another man and kills him too. There were several men in our community who died like that.
