FULL TEXT: Budapest, Saturday. – Since her divorce in 1907, Victoria Rieger became a man-hater. She adopted male guise, worked as a farm laborer and perpetually smoked a pipe. The masquerade was not suspected until she was arrested for murdering two farmers, at the behest of their faithless wives.
Rieger in each case lassooed her victim, hoisted him to a beam in the barn and left him to die. Then she collected the reward of two bottles of wine and 5/ [5 shillings].
She was to-day sentenced to death, and the wives to long terms of imprisonment.
