Goldie Mabel Gill, “Allotment Annie” Military Bride Fraudster – Nevada, 1945

FULL TEXT: Goldie Mabel Gill found out yesterday that being married to two servicemen at the same time can lead to considerable trouble when it comes to allotment checks. Whether or not it was a question of the manpower shortage or an overdose of the idea of doing one’s bit for the service. Goldie Gill declined to state.

The fact remains that a few months ago she took on a second army husband and cashed two of his allotment checks, which constitutes defrauding Uncle Sam.

She was arrested yesterday and taken to Washoe county jail on the charge, which will be heard in federal court at a later date. Mrs. Gill, 23, also known as Billie B. Gill, and Marianne Howard, gave her address here as 206 State street and her occupation as a photographer.
