I., July 23 – Ruth Mary Noary, 17, has confessed, the police said that she and Frank Rampone, 28, a North Providence constable, and his brother, Nicholas, 24, extorted by the badger game two checks of $300 each from Percv P. Holland, 63 years old Providence watch repairer. The checks were never paid, but are held by the police with Frank Rampone's indorsements.
Holland said the brothers burst into his house after the girl had arrived there to demand a watch she claimed to have left for repair. He said the men threatened to "blow his head off," and forced him to "come across." The trio was held in $40,000 bail each in district court.
