News reports describe Marixa Lemus (Marixa Ethelinda Lemus
Perez) as a female leader of a hit squad for hire in Guatemmala. In 2015 she was
convicted of parricide, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and illegal
association. Her victims include a husband, Álvaro Mejía Estrada; an aunt, Amanda
Lemus Contreras; and the Mayor of Moyuta, Carlos Roberto Marroquin Fuentes, who
survived a bomb attack. She order her husband’s death to collect like insurance
and had be aunt killed after having received ransom following her kidnapping.
Marxia escaped from prison twice since her 2015 convictions,
which garnered her a prison sentence of 94 years. She was quickly found after
her initial escape, but fared a little better with her May 11, 2017 escape,
where she remained free two weeks before being grabbed in neighboring El
Salvador.
