FULL TEXT: A message from Petrograd states that the Soviet announces the execution of Madame Jacobleva, the notorious female Chief Justice, who has signed thousands of death warrants.

[A Reuter cable message, published on January 8 inst, stated: -- The real dictator at Petrograd is a woman aged 22, named Jacobleva, the chief of the evolutionary Committee. Stories of her cruelty surpass all existing legends.

The Miskolc Witch’s Poisoning Gang – Hungary, 1897

 
FULL TEXT (Translated from German): It is reported from Miskolcz, Apr. 8: The police arrested seven women today, members of a poisoner gang. The witch's kitchen was in Bagamerigasse. So far, twenty-three crimes have been investigated against which the arrested are charged. The investigation is in progress.

FULL TEXT (Translated from German): In Miskolcz on the 6th of d. M. 7 women, members of a poisoner gang, arrested. So far 23 crimes have become known, which of the arrested persons were burden traps. The investigation is in progress. As is well known, a large poison and murder trial is pending before the court in Hod-Mezo-Vasarhely. These processes cast a very peculiar light on the morality of certain classes of the Hungarian people.

“Hirschfeld Black Widow,” Serial-Husband-Killer – Germany, 1852

 
 
FULL TEXT: In the village of Hirschfeld, not far from Schweinfurt, a peasant woman poisoned her husband, with whom she had only been married for a short time, with phosphorus, which she took from matches and put in the soup her husband ate whereupon he died. An investigation is underway. The woman is widowed for the third time, and her earlier husbands are said to have died under the same symptoms.

FULL TEXT: In dem Orte Hirschfeld, unweit Schweinfurt, hat eine Bauernfrau ihren Mann, mit dem sie erst kurze Zeit ve-heirathrt war, vergiftet, und zwar mit Phosphor, welchen fie von Zündhölzchen nahm und in die Suppe that, die ihr Mann aß, worauf er balv starb. Eine Untersuchung ist eingeleitet. Die Frau ist zum dritten Male verhrieathet, und es sollen, wie man sage, ihre früheren Männer unter denselben Anzeichen gestorben sein.
