FULL TEXT (translated from German): The "Local Gazette" reports from San Remo: Investigations carried out by the authorities in the Italian town of Gerace have led to the discovery of a gruesome crime, in which the institution was headed by St. Anne's sisters, expelled from France in the past year, 143 out of 144 infant foundlings have died as a result of a lack of food, and the population of the town is in a state of great agitation for these terrible crimes.

FULL TEXT: Der “Lokalanzeiger" meldet aus San Remo: Nachforschungen, welche die Behörden indem italienischen Oertchen Gerace anstellten, habenzur Entdeckung eines grausigen Verbrechens geführt. Es wurde festgestellt, daß in der Anstalt, die von denaus Frankreich ausgewiesenen St. Anne Schwestern geleitet wird, im vergangenen Jahre von 144 dort untergebrachten Findelkindern 143 Kinder infolge Mangels an Nahrung gestorben sind. DieBevölkerung des Städtchensistob dieser furchtbaren Verbrechen in großer Aufregung.
