FULL TEXT: Jackson, Miss., Sept. 9 – The youngest and smallest convict ever received at Jackson is Hattie Record, a Holly Springs negress, 9 years of age, who arrived at the penitentiary Monday. She was nursing for her sister and had a charge of two babies. The elder, 2 years old, kept crying, when Hattie picked up an ax and split its head open. She is utterly indifferent and does not seem to appreciate her situation.
