Madame Guzovska, Polish Serial Killer of Over 500 Babies - 1903

FULL TEXT: A wholesale murderess has been arrested at Warsaw in the person of a widow named Guzovska, who took charge of unwelcome children and dispatched them by various means as rapidly as possible. She charged from ₤5 to ₤100 for getting rid of the infant, according to the social position of the mother. The authorities have reason to believe that Madame Guzovska murdered over 500 babies in the course of two or three years, and that she received about ₤10,000 for her crimes, which the Russians expressively term “angel-making.”
