Laurene Dye, Black Widow Serial Killer – Canada, 1999

FULL TEXT: Vancouver – A 42-year-old Vancouver woman with two previous manslaughter charges

Laurene Dye was charged last August with trying to stab to death Oswaldo Sanchez, 42, who recovered in hospital.

At the time of the stabbing, police said the man walked into the emergency ward about 2:30 a. m. claiming that his had stabbed him. Investigators determined the woman was still in her home, where police arrested Ms. Dye and recovered a steak knife.

Police believed the stabbing occurred during a domestic dispute and that alcohol played a role in the incident. Ms. Dye was acquitted March 3.

In 1983, Ms. Dye received an 18-month sentence for killing one husband, and in 1994, she received a 52-month sentence for killing another.
