Jesse Hassell, Texas Acid Attacker - 1921


FULL TEXT: Dallas, Aug. 24 – Mrs. Jesse Hassel, wife of the President of the Dallas Base Ball Team, is out on bond, charged with maiming and carrying concealed weapons.  Jesse Hassell and a woman were surprised in the club house at the base ball park about 2 p. m. by Mrs. Hassell is alleged to have held a phial of acid in one hand and a pistol in the other, and without saying a word she threw acid on a woman and Hassell. The woman who was seriously burned about the face, arms, and shoulders was rushed to the hospital, Hassell was slightly burned. The police arrested Mrs. Hassell and Ben Dennison the ground keeper.
